Greenwood's Goalless Run Continues as He Misses Marseille Match
Greenwood, the French forward who scored his only goal in the first leg of the Champions League against Marseille on Saturday, has now missed two more matches.
On Saturday, Greenwood had a chance to score a goal in the second leg of the Champions League, but he failed to do so and ended up missing out again.
The match was played at the Stade de France, where Greenwood started well for the hosts. However, just before half-time, he received a yellow card for a foul on teammate Antoine Griezmann, which led to him being sent off.
Despite receiving a red card, Greenwood continued to play well throughout the game. He eventually scored his only goal in the second half, but it fell short of his usual scoring ability.
Marseille, who were looking to bounce back from their defeat to Manchester United earlier this month, struggled to find a way past Greenwood. They were unable to create any chances and ultimately lost the game.
This is not the first time that Greenwood has been involved in controversies during the Champions League. In 2019, he was banned for four months after he was found guilty of using racist language towards referee Didier Deschamps.
However, Greenwood has since become one of the most popular players in the league, with his goalscoring abilities and leadership qualities helping to keep teams in the top-four spot.
While the absence of Greenwood may have affected his team's performance, he remains a valuable asset to the club. The team will continue to look for ways to improve and stay competitive in the upcoming season.
