Leicester City has announced the signing of new defender Yuri Tilemans on a three-year contract with an option for a further year. The club also revealed that the Belgian international will be paid £15,000 per week.

The 27-year-old has been a key player for Club Brugge in Belgium's top flight, making over 100 appearances for the club since joining them in 2016. He has also played for Standard Liege and Anderlecht during his career.

Tilemans is expected to add strength and experience to the Leicester defence, which was hit hard by injuries last season. The club's manager, Brendan Rodgers, said:

"We're delighted to have secured the services of Yuri on a long-term deal. He's a quality player who can help us improve our defensive structure."

Rodgers added that he was impressed by Tilemans' work rate and his ability to cover large areas on the pitch.

Tilemans himself said:

"I'm excited to join Leicester and I'm looking forward to working with the players and staff here. I know it's going to be a challenging season but I'm up for the task."

The move is a significant boost for Leicester, who were forced to sell several key players this summer due to financial constraints. With Tilemans in the squad, the club hopes to compete at the highest level next season.
