Angel Di María Shines as Benfica Defeats Real Madrid in Latest Match
In the latest installment of the UEFA Champions League, Angel di María once again stole the show for his club, Benfica. The Argentine midfielder scored two goals and provided an assist as the team defeated Real Madrid 2-1 on Tuesday night.
Di María's first goal came in the 55th minute when he found space on the right wing and slotted home a low shot into the bottom corner of the net. He then added to his tally just three minutes later when he capitalized on a defensive mistake by Real Madrid to score from close range.
The second goal came in the 74th minute after a well-timed run down the left flank by di María resulted in him finding space inside the box. He then fired home a powerful strike that beat goalkeeper Keylor Navas.
Despite the impressive performance, it was not enough for Benfica as they were unable to secure all three points. However, it was still a great night for the 28-year-old who has been in fine form this season with six goals and seven assists in just 16 league appearances.
It will be interesting to see how di María performs against stronger opposition in the upcoming matches, but for now, he can take pride in another excellent display for his side.
