Injury Update for Nicolas Otamendi: The Portuguese forward has been sidelined for over two months due to an injury sustained in the match against Manchester United on October 14th.

On November 28, Otamendi was involved in a clash with Manchester United's Marcus Rashford that resulted in Otamendi being sent off. This led to Otamendi missing the entire first half of the game and was later ruled out indefinitely by the medical staff.

After his injury setback, Otamendi underwent surgery in October to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee. However, he had to undergo another operation in December to repair ligaments in his right knee after further testing revealed he had a partially torn ACL in his right knee.

Despite undergoing multiple surgeries, Otamendi remains uncertain about his return to fitness. He is currently recovering from his injuries in a rehabilitation center in Portugal.

The situation has been complicated by the fact that Otamendi's agent, Pedro Sánchez, has expressed concern about the potential long-term effects of his injury and the impact it could have on his career. Otamendi's manager, Jorge Jesus, has also said that there is no guarantee that he will be able to play again this season or next.

As the matchday approaches, it is clear that Otamendi will need time to recover fully before he can return to action. It remains to be seen how quickly he will be back in training and playing for Benfica, but the Portuguese forward is determined to get back to full fitness as soon as possible.
